Microsoft heeft een beveiligingsupdate voor Jet en ODBC dat de Office ODBC Driver Vulnerability voor Microsoft Office 95. Deze patch updates van Microsoft Jet 3.0 en bijbehorende ODBC-database drivers adressen vrijgegeven aan een kwetsbaarheid die kan worden misbruikt via een Access 95-query op te heffen doen kwaadwillige handelingen. Deze update bevat ook updates voor Text I-ISAM, Lotus I-ISAM en Excel I-ISAM chauffeurs. Daarnaast bevat deze update de eerder uitgebrachte Office-documenten openen hulpprogramma voor het bevestigen dat Office-gebruikers wordt gevraagd om bevestiging bij het openen van Office-documenten (Word, Excel, PowerPoint of Access) gelanceerd vanuit Microsoft Internet Explorer. Hoewel deze nieuwste update werd speciaal ontworpen voor Office-gebruikers, kan veilig worden gebruikt voor Jet 3.0-bestanden te werken zonder de aanwezigheid van Office-bestanden.
Opmerking Microsoft raadt alle Office 95-gebruikers hun systemen te werken met deze beveiligingsupdate. Voor zakelijke gebruikers, raden we u aan eerst contact op met uw systeembeheerder voordat updates of patches.
